NIHR Delegation Inspects Religious Practice Conditions at Jau Reform and Rehabilitation Centre

Manama: A delegation from the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) conducted an inspection visit to the Jau Reform and Rehabilitation Centre to assess inmates' conditions and their ability to freely practice religious rituals during the Ashoora commemoration of 1447 AH.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the institution's delegation was briefed on the regulatory measures implemented at the centre to enable inmates to freely practice their religious rituals, in line with relevant international decisions, regulations, and standards.

The delegation also met with a number of randomly selected inmates to listen to their observations regarding living conditions at the center, their ability to freely practice religious rituals during Ashoora, and to assess their overall treatment and well-being.

The delegation underscored that the center has taken all the necessary measures and facilities that guarantee the rights of inmates to fully observe their rituals, within the framework of the controls set by the Correction and Rehabilitation Institution Law and its executive regulations.
