Manama: Gamezop, a leading online gaming platform, has revealed its strategic plans to expand its operations in the Middle East, following the establishment of a wholly-owned subsidiary in the Kingdom of Bahrain in collaboration with the Economic Development Board.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the India-based company intends to invest USD 4 million to accelerate its operations, hire local talent, and explore acquisition opportunities to support its growth ambitions. Founded in 2016 by Yashash and Gaurav Agarwal, Gamezop is leveraging Bahrain as a gateway to tap into the rapidly growing digital economy in the Middle East, aligning with its global growth strategy and plans to enter additional markets.
Gamezop facilitates the integration of games into apps and websites to enhance user engagement and generate revenue, with ads displayed inside the games creating profits shared between Gamezop and the host platforms. The company aims to attract new partners to develop over 1,000 apps and websites from its Bahrain hub and plans to double its group revenue over the next 18 months.
Musab Abdulla, Executive Director of Business Development (ICT) at the Economic Development Board, noted that Bahrain's supportive environment for online gaming is gaining attention due to its strong digital infrastructure, government initiatives, and a growing base of creative talent. The entry of innovative companies like Gamezop is expected to accelerate growth and provide new opportunities for local developers, enhancing Bahrain's position as a hub for creative industries in the region.
Bahrain offers Gamezop an ideal launchpad into a region characterized by rapid digital transformation, widespread smartphone adoption, and a young, tech-savvy population. The Middle East and North Africa region presents a fertile market for Gamezop's offerings, with many consumer-facing apps and websites actively seeking new ways to boost engagement and achieve growth.
Gaurav Agarwal, co-founder of Gamezop, highlighted Bahrain's strategic location, business-friendly environment, and easy access to the region as key factors in their decision to establish their headquarters there. He expressed confidence that Bahrain will continue attracting leading global companies due to its advanced policies and the proactive support of the Economic Development Board, which has been instrumental in Gamezop's expansion.
Backed by BITKRAFT Ventures, one of the world's largest gaming venture capital firms, Gamezop is integrated with over 9,000 platforms in more than 70 countries, engaging with over 45 million users monthly. Through its Middle East and North Africa headquarters, Gamezop is poised to strengthen its regional presence, establish new partnerships, and contribute to Bahrain's vision of becoming a leading centre for digital innovation in the Middle East.
