NHRA signs MoU with Russia

Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari, CEO of the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), emphasized the significance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s official visit to the Russian Federation, in response to an invitation from His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation.

The visit aims to bolster prospects for cooperation and strengthen the longstanding historical relations between the two nations.

Dr. Al Ansari affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to enhancing distinguished partnerships with other countries, leveraging expertise and resources to support further achievements and projects in the healthcare sector. This comes amidst ongoing development and sustainable modernization of the healthcare system.

His remarks were made on the occasion of the signing of a joint memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the National Health Regulatory Authority of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade to enhance cooperation in drug production, as part of H
is Majesty the King’s visit to Russia. He praised Bahrain and Russia’s commitment to strengthening bilateral work and joint coordination, particularly towards sustaining progress in the healthcare sector.

Representing Bahrain, the MoU was signed by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, while on the Russian side, it was signed by Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade.

Al Ansari pointed out that the memorandum aims to enhance Russian-Bahraini cooperation in the pharmaceutical and medical industries on a competitive basis, ensuring mutual benefits. It encompasses cooperation in several vital areas, including fostering healthcare and pharmaceutical collaboration between the two countries, boosting joint healthcare investments in drug and medical device production, and collaborating on organising conferences and exchanging expertise in training.
