Manama:The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) has introduced an enhanced service for the registration renewal of alternative and complementary medicine products. This development is part of the government's ongoing efforts to improve service quality and streamline procedures.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the upgraded service enables agents to submit renewal applications electronically via the Adwiyah system. This change reduces processing time from 15 to 10 working days and simplifies the application process to three steps. It also reduces the required documentation by 50%, the service-level agreement (SLA) by at least 25%, and the number of necessary approvals by 25%.
The improvements include doing away with the need for documents issued by the service provider, introducing electronic application forms, and standardizing service information across all channels. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari, NHRA Chief Executive Officer, stated the development shows the authority's commitment to leveraging digital solutions and re-engineering procedures to enhance efficiency.
Dr. Al Ansari explained that the upgraded service allows agents to submit applications and supporting documents through the Adwiyah system without appointments or in-person visits. Applications are reviewed and processed electronically until approval is granted.
He emphasized the authority's dedication to continuously developing services and simplifying procedures to improve the beneficiary experience and operational efficiency.
Part of the broader government effort to develop and re-engineer public services has seen over 1,300 services documented, translated, and published, with 800 services undergoing development across various sectors. These initiatives are informed by suggestions and feedback from the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), investor feedback, and mystery shopper reports. They aim to boost procedural efficiency, service quality, and the beneficiary experience while supporting digital transformation.
