National Unity Assembly and Islamic Societies Support Royal Directives on National Allegiance

Manama: The National Unity Assembly, Al Menber Al Watani Al Islami Society, and Al Asalah Islamic Society have publicly declared their full support for the royal directives aimed at addressing issues related to national allegiance in Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the National Unity Assembly and Al Menber Al Watani Al Islami Society released a joint statement endorsing the decision to revoke Bahraini nationality from individuals involved in supporting hostile Iranian actions or collaborating with foreign entities. They described this action as a sovereign measure necessary for protecting national security and stability. The statement emphasized the importance of undivided allegiance to the Kingdom of Bahrain and supported all lawful measures to maintain national stability, social cohesion, and development gains. The societies also called for national solidarity and cautioned against division and threats to security.

In a separate statement, Al Asalah Islamic Society echoed the support for revoking nationality in cases of espionage or foreign collaboration, aligning with royal directives to safeguard national security. The society highlighted the importance of upholding the rule of law and unity around the leadership, advocating for firm actions against threats to Bahrain's security or stability. It further noted that while treason can carry severe penalties in some legal systems, Bahrain has opted for a more restrained approach, urging for prosecution and punishment of guilty parties in accordance with the law and the severity of their offences.
