Manama: The National Taskforce for Combating Communicable Diseases held a virtual meeting to review global health developments and national preparedness measures. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), was present.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, stressed the importance of maintaining a high level of preventive readiness and strengthening coordination among relevant authorities to protect public health. She highlighted precautionary steps taken by Civil Aviation Affairs to temporarily suspend the entry of non-Bahraini travelers arriving from South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Uganda, following recent World Health Organisation updates on the Ebola outbreak in those countries.
The meeting also reviewed Bahrain's precautionary and response plans for emerging health developments, with officials affirming the continuation of preventive measures under the Kingdom's approved national health protocols.
