Manama: Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the National Arts Council, held a consultative meeting with the Chairman and Board Members of the Bahrain Contemporary Art Association, as part of efforts to support national cultural and artistic initiatives and to strengthen engagement with institutions involved in the development of the visual arts scene in the Kingdom.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting reviewed the association's recently organised activities and events, as well as its upcoming plans aimed at supporting Bahraini artists and highlighting their achievements. Discussions also addressed ways to support initiatives and projects that contribute to fostering the local art movement.
Preparations for the association's upcoming 50th Annual Exhibition were discussed, noting the continued patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in recognition of the event's importance in Bahrain's visual arts scene.
Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa expressed his appreciation for the role the association has played since its establishment, commending its distinguished contributions over the past five decades. He also congratulated the association's Board of Directors on this historic occasion, noting that the 50th anniversary marks an important milestone that reflects the depth of Bahrain's visual arts movement in the region. He stressed the importance of continued collaboration among cultural and artistic institutions in the Kingdom to foster a supportive environment for art and artists.
