Manama: His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, attended the races of His Majesty the King's Endurance Cup Festival, organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) at the Bahrain International Endurance Village, with wide participation from riders.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Deputy Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee, and Member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports. His Highness attended the 120km race for local juniors and youth, as well as the 120km and 100km international qualifying races, which witnessed strong competition among participants.
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa stated that His Majesty the King's Endurance Cup is among the most prominent tournaments of the season and holds special significance for riders and stables, motivating them to prepare early and intensively to compete at the highest level. His Highness commended the high standards of the races and congratulated Team Victorious for securing the top three places in the junior and youth category.
His Highness crowned Team Victorious after Khalid Raed Abdulrahman won the junior and youth title, followed by Abdulaziz Yousef Taher in second place and Jaber Bader Jafar in third. The 160km race of His Majesty the King's International Cup is scheduled to take place on Saturday, alongside the 120km race for private Gulf stables.
The Royal Endurance Team achieved a new milestone after the horse 'Bolt de Venelles' topped the 2025 world rankings for juniors and young riders issued by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports. Rider Isa Hameed Al Anezi of the Royal Endurance Team secured third place globally in the junior and youth category. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa presented a shield and certificate of excellence to Jaafar Merza, coach of the Royal Endurance Team, and honoured rider Isa Al Anezi for the achievement.
