The kingdom of bahrain: continued its strong showing in mixed martial arts at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, which will run until October 4, with Mukhammad Nabiev and Diana Pogosyan reaching the finals and securing two medals for Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Pogosyan reached the women's 54kg final in the modern MMA category after beating South Korea's Bo Mi Lee 3-0. She will face Thailand's Kanjutha in the final for the gold medal.
In the men's 77kg traditional MMA category, Nabiev reached the final after beating Kyrgyzstan's Syimyk 3-0. He will face Kazakhstan's Burkutalin in the final.
With both Bahrainis reaching the finals, Bahrain is guaranteed two medals in mixed martial arts. Nabiev and Pogosyan will now compete for the two gold medals.
