Manama:The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, in collaboration with the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), has introduced a new service for issuing permits to export veterinary samples outside the Kingdom. This initiative is part of the government's broader efforts to enhance and streamline service delivery.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the new service aims to regulate the movement of samples in line with health and veterinary standards, ensuring compliance with biosafety and international shipping requirements. The service is designed to bolster animal health security and mitigate the risk of cross-border disease transmission.
The updated procedure reduces the permit issuance time to one working day and condenses the process from seven steps to three, eliminating the need for document submission. The service-level agreement has been shortened by at least 25%, with application steps capped at four. This initiative achieves full digitalisation, improves user experience, simplifies procedures, and reduces necessary approvals by 25%.
Additionally, the service enhancements include system improvements, electronic conversion of application forms, and standardisation of service information across all channels. Beneficiaries can submit applications through Bahrain's National Portal, where the ministry reviews and processes them before issuing permits electronically, saving time and effort.
Asim Abdul Latif Abdullah, Undersecretary for Agriculture and Animal Wealth Affairs, confirmed the ministry's dedication to advancing services in the agricultural and veterinary sectors by leveraging digital solutions to simplify and enhance service delivery while maintaining compliance with health standards.
As part of broader government efforts, over 1,300 services have been documented, with 800 developed and re-engineered across various sectors. These improvements arise from feedback through the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), investor input, and mystery shopper evaluations, all contributing to improved efficiency, service quality, and beneficiary satisfaction in support of the government's digital transformation strategy.
