Municipalities Ministry Imports Livestock and Meat Supplies for Eid Al Adha Needs

Manama: The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture has announced the importation of more than 35,000 livestock and over 6,000 tonnes of meat supplies to satisfy local market demand during the upcoming Eid Al Adha celebrations.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Asim Abdullatif Abdullah, the Undersecretary for Agriculture Affairs and Animal Wealth, stated that the imports consist of sheep, cattle, camels, red meat, and poultry, with additional shipments anticipated in the coming days. The ministry has implemented a comprehensive plan to ensure the availability of supplies and to enhance veterinary and health inspections throughout the stages of importation, slaughter, and distribution.

Preparations for veterinary supervision at licensed slaughterhouses during the Eid period have been completed, and inspections at official entry points continue to ensure that imported livestock and meat products meet approved health standards. The ministry has urged the public to utilize licensed slaughterhouses and to avoid unregulated slaughter practices to protect public health and safety.
