Manama: The Agriculture and Marine Resources Affairs at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture has organized a tree-planting event in collaboration with the Embassy of the United States of America in Bahrain. The event was held in cooperation with the Horse Care Affairs Authority and the Southern Area Municipality.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the initiative is part of the Ministry's efforts to implement the National Afforestation Strategy. This strategy aims to expand green spaces in urban areas across Bahrain and to raise environmental awareness among citizens and residents about the importance of tree planting.
The event was attended by US Embassy staff and their families, participants from the Embassy's cultural and academic exchange programs, as well as officials and employees from the Ministry and other cooperating entities.
The Ministry expressed appreciation to all participants for their support in national efforts to double the number of trees in the Kingdom by 2035. This is in line with Bahrain's goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.
