Bahrain’s Parliamentary Delegation Engages in Key Discussions at Marrakech Economic Forum

Marrakech: Bahrain's parliamentary delegation participated in the closing session of the 3rd Marrakech Economic Parliamentary Forum for the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf regions. The final session featured a general discussion on the ethical use of artificial intelligence and the importance of reinforcing parliamentary oversight. Another session examined a regional initiative aimed at improving access for Sahel nations to the Atlantic Ocean, presenting it as a strategic vision to advance peace, security, and joint development.

According to Bahrain News Agency, forum discussions also addressed macroeconomic prospects for the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf regions, alongside shifts in international trade and finance. Strategic options for energy transition, adaptation, and energy security were examined, as well as the impact of persistent pollutants on human health.

Bahrain's participation in the forum reflects its commitment to strengthening cooperation with international parliamentary organisations and its recognition of the active role played by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean and other parliamentary alliances. It aligns with the Kingdom's diplomatic principles of balance, moderation, and openness, under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The meeting was attended by Members of Parliament Mohammed Moosa, Abdulhakim Al Shino, Hanan Fardan, and Basma Mubarak, as well as Mohammed Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives, and Kareema Al Abbasi, Secretary General of the Shura Council.
