Municipalities Minister Inspects Urban, Rural Development Project in Northern Governorate

Manama: Northern Governorate: Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs, toured homes included in an Urban and Rural Development Project in the Northern Governorate.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the visit involved inspections of several completed homes and others under construction, alongside discussions with homeowners to address their feedback on the construction, renovation, and provision of essential facilities. Al Mubarak emphasised the ministry's commitment to the project and highlighted its importance in meeting the needs of Bahraini families.

He underscored the ministry's dedication to utilising all resources and capabilities to implement the project in line with established plans and achieve its intended goals. Al Mubarak noted that the Urban and Rural Development Project, launched in 2006 as one of Bahrain's key urban development initiatives, has significantly supported Bahraini families by maintaining and renovating their homes.

Al Mubarak stated that the ministry, in collaboration with municipal councils, has successfully executed maintenance and renovations across all governorates, including additions, repairs, and other enhancements. The minister highlighted that priorities and work plans for 2025 and 2026 are being developed in coordination with the municipal councils.

Applications for the Urban and Rural Development Project are submitted electronically through the relevant sections of the Capital Secretariat Council and municipal councils. Requests are reviewed and audited by the Ministry of Municipalities and Agricultural Affairs to ensure they meet the project's requirements before being tendered for execution.
