Municipalities Minister Highlights Bahrain’s Commitment at International Dates Council Meeting.

Riyadh: Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, participated in the fourth International Dates Council (IDC) meeting in Riyadh. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the Board of Directors of IDC. According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Mubarak underscored Bahrain's support for the vision and objectives of the IDC in his remarks. He highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation with Gulf, Arab, and international partnerships to develop the palm trees and dates sector. The minister emphasized the significance of this meeting in exchanging insights and experiences, fostering a collective approach to advancing the dates sector, and enhancing the quality of its production across member states. Al Mubarak also highlighted the importance of continuing the implementation of joint projects aimed at achieving the sector's sustainable growth. He emphasized that palm trees and dates are deeply rooted in Bahrain's history and national culture, serving as an important contributor to food security and environmental sustainability. Bahrain's focus on the cultivation and production of dates reflects a strong belief in their role as a foundation for a sustainable future and an essential factor in achieving environmental balance. Furthermore, the minister reiterated Bahrain's commitment to strengthening the dates sector by advancing agricultural research, fostering innovation in farming techniques, and adopting international best practices in production and marketing. These efforts aim to enhance the quality of dates and boost their competitiveness in global markets. The meeting coincided with the fifth edition of the International Dates Exhibition, which will be held under the slogan "World of Dates" at the Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Centre from November 19-28. The event will feature the participation of more than 100 local and international e ntities to exchange knowledge and open new markets for this industry at the global level.
