Municipalities Minister Evaluates Sitra Parks Development Progress

Sitra: Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs, inspected the progress of the development project for two parks in the Sitra housing project, which has reached a completion rate of 40%. Saleh Taher Mohammed Tarada, Chairman of the Capital Municipal Council, Mohammed Saad Al Sahli, Capital Municipality Director-General, and Mariam Jumaa Al Flaiti, Assistant Undersecretary for Housing Services Affairs, were present during the inspection.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Al Mubarak underscored the commitment to advancing service projects supporting the country's ongoing development. He highlighted the Ministry's efforts to enhance parks and public facilities, expand green space initiatives, and improve infrastructure in parks, walkways, and recreational areas in line with community needs.

Minister Al Mubarak noted that the first park in Sitra's housing city is being developed over 2,104 square metres, featuring two padel courts spanning 400 square metres, the planting of more than 50 trees, and 680 square metres of ground cover, making up 31% of the park's area. The second park, covering 2,176 square metres, will include a multi-activity playground of 490 square metres, the planting of approximately 50 trees, and 680 square metres of ground cover, making up 32% of the park's area. Additionally, 26 parking spaces and four seating areas will be provided to ensure a well-equipped recreational space.

Minister Al Mubarak emphasised the importance of collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning to ensure the provision of integrated services within housing projects. This cooperation aims to optimise available spaces and bring municipal services closer to residents, enhancing the urban landscape and environmental quality of these areas.
