Manama: Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, expressed his appreciation for the launch of the Bahrain Mangroves initiative by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. This initiative aims to raise awareness of the critical significance of planting mangroves in Bahrain, while fostering community partnerships to fulfil various environmental goals. According to Bahrain News Agency, the initiative aligns with the implementation of the National Action Plan, 'Blueprint Bahrain,' which is designed to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to confronting the challenges posed by climate change and protecting the environment. He highlighted HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman's role in championing efforts to cultivate mangroves in Bahrain, in accordance with established plans that seek to quadruple the number of mangroves in the Kingdom by 2035. The minister emphasised that the launch of the Bahrain Mangroves initiative serves as a significant motivation for ministry personnel to persist in their efforts and intensify their endeavours to achieve the set objectives.
