Manama: Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister, announced that the 12th edition of the Bahraini Farmers' Market will be launched on December 7 - February 22, in partnership with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) and STC Bahrain, at the Budaiya Botanical Garden. Bahraini farmers, brands and craftsmen, will participate in the market, which coincides with the country's National holidays. The announcement coincided with the minister's inspection visit of the market, where he oversaw the preparation of its opening. According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Mubarak affirmed that holding the Farmers' Market follows His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's directives to invest in the enhancement of food security, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The minister commended the partnership with NIAD, led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of HM the King, President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) and NIAD Advisory Council's Chairperson, in inaugurating the 12th edition of the Bahraini Farmers' Market. Asim Abdul Latif Abdullah, Undersecretary of Agriculture and Animal Wealth Affairs at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, confirmed that preparations for the new season are complete, with registrations finalised. The event is set to welcome a broad range of participants, including local farmers, businesses, and artisans, reflecting its growing popularity and impact. He noted that improvements to the market's facilities have been made to ensure a unique and engaging experience for visitors and participants alike, further cementing the event's position as a key attraction for locals and international visitors.
