Municipalities Affairs Minister and UK Counterpart Discuss Agricultural Development Opportunities


London: Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, met with Angela Eagle, UK Minister of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, to explore cooperation opportunities in agricultural development. The meeting aimed to strengthen ties and enhance collaboration in the agricultural sector between Bahrain and the UK.



According to Bahrain News Agency, the Minister emphasized the historic relationship between the two nations. He highlighted Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to the agricultural sector under the guidance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Government initiatives, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and overseen by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, have been pivotal in driving agricultural progress.



Angela Eagle commended the partnership between Bahrain and the UK, expressing optimism about expanding collaborations to further develop Bahrain’s agriculture. Discussions during the meeting focused on UK-led research, advanced technologies, and innovative solutions that could support Bahrain’s objectives for sustainable agricultural growth.



The Minister also had the opportunity to tour key UK agricultural firms, research centres, and academic institutions specializing in advanced agricultural technology, aiming to integrate these insights into Bahrain’s agricultural strategies.
