Muharraq Municipality Launches Competition for Bahrain Airport Gateway Monument

Muharraq:Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary for Municipalities Affairs at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, has announced a competition to design a welcoming monument at the intersection leading to Bahrain International Airport.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the competition seeks to establish an urban landmark that embodies Bahraini identity and the values of hospitality and openness. It aims to enhance the visual character of one of the Kingdom of Bahrain's main gateways.

Khalid Ali Al Qallaf, Director General of Muharraq Municipality, stated that the competition is open to licensed local engineering, architectural, and design firms, as well as designers, artists, engineers, and students in related fields at local universities, colleges, and educational institutions.
