MKCC Hosts Awareness Event on Congenital Heart Disease in Children

Manama: The Royal Medical Services and the Mohammed Bin Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa Specialist Cardiac Centre (MKCC) are organising an awareness event on congenital heart disease in children on Saturday from 10 am to 10 pm at Seef Mall.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the event is being held as part of global Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) Awareness Week. It aims to raise awareness of these common birth defects, emphasise early diagnosis, promote healthy lifestyles, and highlight treatment plans to support children's heart health.

The event will feature interactive stations that cover various aspects of congenital heart conditions, including symptoms and emergency signs that require medical attention. These stations will provide nursing advice and medical consultations on chest pain and heart defects. Additionally, there will be CPR training sessions specifically designed for infants and children, as well as physiotherapy sessions focusing on the importance of physical activity.

Nutritional guidance will also be available, offering advice on balanced diets for children to help maintain heart health. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with healthcare professionals and gain valuable insights into managing congenital heart disease in children.
