Minister of Foreign Affairs Discusses Regional Security with EU High Representative

Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone call today with Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission. The conversation focused on reviewing cooperation and partnership relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union, exploring ways to strengthen and develop these ties across various fields to serve mutual interests, and exchanging views on topics of common concern.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussion addressed current regional developments, notably the ongoing Iranian attacks on Bahrain and other GCC countries, highlighting the threat these actions pose to regional security and stability. The conversation also covered implications of Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz, examining its impact on international navigation, energy security, and the global economy. Both parties emphasized the importance of continued consultation and joint coordination to enhance regional and international security and stability.
