Minister honours national health committees

Health Minister, Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh, has commended the achievements attained by the national health committees thanks to their constant cooperation with the relevant entities at ministries, in addition to civil society organisations, noting that they are keen to continue launching national initiatives aimed at protecting the health and safety of the citizens and residents, as well as preventing the spread of diseases.

The Minister of Health made the statements during a ceremony to honour the national health committees, including the National Committee to Combat Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases, the National Committee for Combating Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), and the National Committee to Control Smoking and All Types of Tobacco and Tobacco Products, held today at the Ministry of Health.

The minister extended thanks, appreciation and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their unwavering support for medical services in the kingdom, including the preventive services and the work of the national health committees.

The minister welcomed the members of the national health committees, expressing sincere thanks and appreciation to them for their dedicated efforts and cooperation as one team within Team Bahrain, noting that the one-team spirit has contributed to achieving multiple health successes and gains for the community in the Kingdom.

She praised the government’s support for the efforts of the national health committees, which led to achieving their goals, stressing her keenness to continue working with the national committees to reach a disease-free Bahraini society.

During the ceremony, 41 members of the national health committees were honoured in appreciation of their dedication in serving the work of the national committees and contributing to achieving their goals.

The national health committees include representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, the Ministry of Information Affairs, the Supreme Council for the Environment, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Royal Medical Services ( Bahrain Defence Force Hospital), the King Hamad University Hospital, and the Mohammed Bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Specialist Cardiac Centre, in addition to the Bahrain Diabetes Society, the Bahrain Cancer Society, and the Anti-Smoking Society.
