Middle Eastern Nations Condemn Iran’s Aggression and Proxy Activities

Manama: Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Jordan have issued a joint statement condemning what they describe as Iran’s acts of aggression, either directly or through proxy groups in the region. The statement highlights violations against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of these nations, breaching international laws and the United Nations Charter.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the joint statement specifically criticizes attacks by Iranian-backed armed groups originating from Iraq, which have targeted civilian infrastructure in the region. These acts are seen as violations of international conventions and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), which demands that Iran ceases all forms of aggression and threats against its neighboring countries.

The countries involved in the statement emphasize their amicable relations with Iraq but urge the Iraqi government to take decisive action against militias and armed groups operating from its territory. The appeal stresses the importance of maintaining regional stability and preventing further escalations.

The statement also reaffirms the signatories’ right to self-defense as per Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. The countries assert their readiness to take necessary measures to protect their sovereignty, security, and stability. Additionally, they condemn activities that undermine regional security, including actions by sleeper cells aligned with Iran and Hezbollah-linked terrorist organizations.

The statement concludes by commending the efforts of their armed forces and security services in confronting threats, safeguarding citizens, and dismantling terrorist networks, highlighting their role as a crucial defense for their countries.
