McLaren Triumphs at Belgian Grand Prix with Double Victory

Manama: McLaren secured a remarkable double victory today at the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. Owned by Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, Bahrain's sovereign wealth fund, the team celebrated a first and second place finish in challenging weather conditions after the race was delayed by over 80 minutes due to heavy rain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Australian driver Oscar Piastri took first place ahead of his British teammate Lando Norris, giving the team a strong performance. Piastri took the lead early on the first lap after a cautious restart behind the safety car, while Norris finished 3.41 seconds behind. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc came third.

This result boosts McLaren's lead in the Constructors' Championship with 516 points, well ahead of Ferrari in second place with 248 points. McLaren drivers hold the top two spots in the Drivers' Championship, with Piastri on 266 points and Norris on 250 points, while Red Bull's Max Verstappen is third with 185 points. This victory highlights the strength of the team and underscores its significance as one of Bahrain's key investments in global sports.
