Manama: Mazad, Bahrain's leading digital auction and marketplace platform, has announced the integration of eKey 2.0 into its digital platform. By doing so, Mazad becomes the first online auction platform in the Kingdom to adopt Bahrain's national digital identity authentication solution. This step highlights Mazad's dedication to improving user experience, promoting digital innovation, and ensuring a secure marketplace for its users.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the eKey 2.0 service is provided through Beyon Connect, part of the Beyon Group, in collaboration with the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA). The integration offers Mazad users a streamlined and secure method for accessing the platform, facilitating a more efficient digital experience. Users can now register and log in using national digital identity credentials, with biometric and facial recognition replacing traditional usernames and passwords. This advancement simplifies the registration process, accelerates identity verification, and bolsters trust on the platform.
Nezar Habib, CEO of Mazad, emphasized that the integration enhances user experience by providing seamless and secure access through Bahrain's national digital identity infrastructure. Dr. Khaled Al Motawa of the iGA remarked that Mazad's integration with eKey 2.0 contributes to the broader adoption of Bahrain's digital identity system, supporting digital service integration across various sectors. Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Beyon Digital Growth, noted that Mazad's partnership with eKey 2.0 extends the national digital identity solution to the e-commerce and marketplace sectors, aligning with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
eKey 2.0 serves as Bahrain's national authentication system, offering a unified and secure method for identity verification and access to both government and private-sector services.
