Sakhir: Spanish driver Josep Mara Mart secured first place in the Formula 2 sprint race, part of the support events for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025, at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), known as 'the Home of Motorsport in the Middle East'.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Mart completed the thrilling 23-lap race in 46 minutes and 24.663 seconds, narrowly finishing 0.922 seconds ahead of Dutch competitor Richard Verschoor from MP Motorsport. Paraguayan racer Joshua Duerksen, representing AIX Racing, claimed third place, trailing 1.537 seconds behind Mart.
The Formula 2 events will continue with the Feature Race scheduled for Sunday, featuring a 32-lap challenge that will commence at 2:25 p.m. at the BIC.
