Magnitude 6.7 Earthquake Strikes Indonesia’s Tanimbar Islands Region

Tanimbar islands: An earthquake of magnitude 6.7 struck off the coast of Indonesia's Tanimbar Islands region on Monday, according to the country's geophysics agency. The agency reported that there was no tsunami potential following the quake.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 98 km (60.89 miles). However, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported a different magnitude of 6.8 and a shallower depth of 10 km (6.21 miles). Tremors from the quake were felt in several small towns in eastern Indonesia.

There were no immediate reports of damage following the earthquake, as stated by Indonesia's disaster mitigation agency.
