Ankara: A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck the western region of Trkiye, with its epicentre located in the Simav district. The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported that the quake occurred at a depth of approximately 8.46 kilometres underground. The tremors were felt in several major cities, including Istanbul, Izmir, and Bursa, as well as in neighbouring provinces.
According to Bahrain News Agency, AFAD indicated that there were no significant human losses resulting from the earthquake, although some old buildings sustained damage. The earthquake's impact was noted across a broad area, highlighting the region's vulnerability to seismic activity.
