Madinah: The Madinah Region Development Authority continues to implement high-quality projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life by creating safe, inclusive urban spaces. These initiatives focus on catering to the needs of pedestrians, cyclists, the elderly, and individuals with visual impairments, aligning with broader goals of urban beautification and human-centered design.
According to Bahrain News Agency, as part of this effort, the authority is developing dedicated pedestrian and cycling paths, running tracks, and specialised walkways for the visually impaired. To date, approximately 430,098 square metres of pavements have been upgraded, while 29,428 square metres have been designated for cycling paths, supporting safe and sustainable mobility across the city.
These initiatives reflect the authority's vision of creating a livable, inclusive city that enhances the overall urban experience for all residents.
