Logistics Committee Begins Key Preparations for World Weightlifting Championships.

Manama: The Logistics Committee, responsible for organising the World Weightlifting Championships, is making significant progress in its preparations for the prestigious event, scheduled to take place from 4 to 15 December. The tournament will be held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Affairs and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports. According to Bahrain News Agency, Mariam Mahmood, head of the Logistics Committee, emphasised that work began immediately upon the committee's formation. She highlighted the comprehensive nature of their responsibilities, including selecting highly qualified members with extensive experience in organising similar events. "The committee is prepared to deliver outstanding results in the coming months," Mahmood stated. "Our focus is on planning and coordinating the event site design to meet the standards set by the International Weightlifting Federation a nd the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation." She noted that the committee enjoys strong support from Eshaq Ebrahim Eshaq, President of the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation, who closely monitors their progress. The committee's scope of work includes overseeing competition platforms, warm-up areas, and all necessary equipment for the tournament. Additionally, they are responsible for coordinating stage design, lighting, and acoustics. A key objective is ensuring that all logistics comply with safety standards mandated by the International Weightlifting Federation. The committee plans to conduct equipment inspections well ahead of the championship, with daily evaluations to ensure readiness for the competitions. Furthermore, Mahmood explained that the committee will coordinate preparation schedules with other committees involved in the event, conduct technical inspections of equipment, and manage logistics for dismantling and cleaning the venue after each day of competition. "We are developing a daily schedule t o ensure all committees have the resources they need to deliver a successful championship," she concluded. As preparations continue, the committee remains committed to delivering a world-class event that highlights the talent of athletes from across the globe.
