Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 1,642 inspection campaigns and visits during the period of 17 to 23 November 2024, resulting in the detention of 24 violating and irregular workers, while 83 violators were deported. The inspections aimed to enforce compliance with the LMRA and Residency Laws in the Kingdom, and legal actions were initiated for the observed violations. According to Bahrain News Agency, the LMRA conducted 1,614 inspection visits across various shops in all governorates, complemented by 28 joint inspection campaigns. These campaigns included 20 in the Capital Governorate, 3 in the Muharraq Governorate, 2 in the Northern Governorate, and 3 in the Southern Governorate. The Ministry of Interior, along with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), respective Police Directorates, the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Evidence, and the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, participa ted in these campaigns. The LMRA emphasized ongoing collaboration with government agencies to enhance inspection efforts and tackle violations that undermine the stability and competitiveness of the labour market, as well as the economic and social security of the Kingdom. The authority urged public cooperation in curbing illegal labour practices by reporting violations through their website or contact channels.
