Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the execution of 1,596 inspection campaigns and visits between February 1 and 7, resulting in the detention of 18 irregular workers and the deportation of 93 violators.
According to Bahrain News Agency, these inspections led to the identification of multiple violations related to the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Legal actions were taken concerning the observed violations.
The LMRA reported that 1,559 inspection visits were conducted across various shops in all governorates, accompanied by 37 joint inspection campaigns. This included 15 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 8 in the Muharraq Governorate, and 7 each in both the Northern and Southern Governorates.
Several government entities participated in these campaigns, including the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the respective Governorate's Police Directorate, the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Science, the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, as well as the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO), and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA).
The LMRA emphasized ongoing collaboration with government agencies to intensify inspection efforts across all governorates to address violations that could impact the labour market's stability and competitiveness or harm the Kingdom's economic and social security.
The LMRA also urged the public to support government efforts in combating illegal labour practices by reporting violations through the electronic form on their website www.lmra.gov.bh, calling the LMRA call centre at 17506055, or using the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
