LMRA Cracks Down on Labour Violations with Over 1,800 Inspections

Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 1,817 inspection campaigns and visits during the period from November 23 to 29, 2025. These efforts resulted in the detention of 50 violating and irregular workers, while 83 violators were deported.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspection campaigns and visits led to the monitoring of several violations related to the provisions of various regulating laws, particularly those concerning the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Legal measures were taken in response to the observed violations.

The LMRA reported that 1,780 inspection visits were conducted on various shops across all governorates, complemented by 37 joint inspection campaigns. This included 17 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 4 in the Muharraq Governorate, 7 in the Northern Governorate, and 9 in the Southern Governorate.

Government entities that participated in these campaigns included the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the respective Police Directorate of each governorate, the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Science, the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, as well as the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority, and the Social Insurance Organization.

The LMRA emphasized its ongoing coordination with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns throughout the Kingdom. The aim is to address any violations or practices that may negatively impact the stability and competitiveness of the labour market, or harm the economic and social security of the Kingdom.

The Authority also renewed its call for all members of society to support government efforts in tackling illegal labour practices. Citizens are encouraged to report violations via the electronic form on the Authority's website www.lmra.gov.bh, by calling the Authority's call centre on 17506055, or through the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
