Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 3,633 inspection campaigns and visits during July 2026. These efforts resulted in the detention of 114 violating and irregular workers, while 420 violators were deported as part of ongoing efforts to maintain a fair, stable, and competitive labour market.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspection campaigns and visits also uncovered a number of violations related to various regulatory laws, particularly the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Legal measures were taken regarding the observed violations.
The Authority reported that 3,449 inspection visits were conducted on various shops across all governorates. Additionally, 184 joint inspection campaigns were executed, including 85 in the Capital Governorate, 44 in the Muharraq Governorate, 30 in the Northern Governorate, and 25 in the Southern Governorate.
The campaigns involved several government entities, including the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Science, the respective Police Directorate of each Governorate, and the General Directorate of Civil Defense. Other participating organizations were the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, the Social Insurance Organization, the Electricity and Water Authority, and the National Health Regulatory Authority.
The Authority emphasized the importance of continued joint coordination with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns across all governorates of the Kingdom. This collaboration aims to address any violations or practices that negatively impact the stability and competitiveness of the labour market or harm the economic and social security of the Kingdom.
The LMRA urged all members of society to support government efforts in combating illegal labour practices by reporting violations through the electronic form on the authority's website www.lmra.gov.bh, via the authority's call centre at 17506055, or through the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
