Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has announced the completion of 1,927 inspection campaigns and visits conducted from November 2 to November 8. These operations resulted in the detention of 17 irregular workers and the deportation of 52 violators.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspection campaigns uncovered several violations related to various regulating laws, particularly the LMRA and Residency Laws in the Kingdom. Legal actions were taken against the observed violations. The LMRA reported conducting 1,899 inspection visits to shops across all governorates, alongside 28 joint inspection campaigns. These included 14 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 5 in Muharraq Governorate, 3 in Northern Governorate, and 6 in Southern Governorate.
The campaigns were a collaborative effort involving multiple government entities, including the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the Governorate’s respective Police Directorate, the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Science, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA), and the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO).
The LMRA has reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing coordination with government agencies to enhance inspection efforts across all governorates. The aim is to address violations and practices that could negatively impact the stability and competitiveness of the labour market or endanger the economic and social security of the Kingdom.
The LMRA has also urged the public to support government efforts in combating illegal labour practices by reporting violations. Reports can be made through the electronic form on the LMRA’s website, by calling the authority’s call center, or via the government’s Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
