LMRA Conducts 871 Inspection Campaigns and Visits in Bahrain

Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 871 inspection campaigns and visits during the period from August 31 to September 6, resulting in the detention of 16 violating and irregular workers, and the deportation of 54 violators.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspection campaigns and visits also led to the identification of several violations related to the provisions of various regulating laws, particularly those concerning the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Legal measures have been taken to address these violations.

The LMRA reported that 860 inspection visits were conducted across various shops in all governorates, alongside 11 joint inspection campaigns. These included five campaigns in the Capital Governorate, two campaigns in the Muharraq Governorate, two campaigns in the Northern Governorate, and two campaigns in the Southern Governorate.

Government entities that participated in these campaigns included the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the respective Police Directorate of each governorate, and the Social Insurance Organization.

The Authority confirmed the ongoing joint coordination with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns across all governorates of the Kingdom. The aim is to address any violations or practices that negatively impact the stability and competitiveness of the labour market or harm the economic and social security of the Kingdom.

The LMRA has renewed its call for all members of society to support government efforts in tackling illegal labour practices. It encourages reporting violations via the electronic form on the authority's website www.lmra.gov.bh, by calling the authority's call centre on 17506055, or through the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
