LMRA Chief Executive Emphasises Bahrain’s Commitment to Combating Human Trafficking

Manama: Nibras Mohammed Talib, Chief Executive of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee for Combatting Trafficking in Persons, emphasised the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment to continuing its efforts to be an international model in combating human trafficking. He highlighted that Bahrain is enhancing its national protection and oversight systems with effective and sustainable policies and plans.

According to Bahrain News Agency, on the occasion of World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, the LMRA Chief Executive stated that this day serves as an opportunity to renew Bahrain's commitment to supporting international efforts to tackle human trafficking. He stressed the importance of raising community awareness by sharing Bahrain's experience with other countries.

He noted that the Kingdom's approach is founded on a comprehensive national system focused on prevention, protection, enforcement, and partnership, with government bodies collaborating as a cohesive unit. These efforts have garnered global recognition, including Bahrain's Tier 1 ranking for several consecutive years in the US State Department's Trafficking in Persons Report.

The LMRA Chief Executive also underscored the efforts of various government bodies in adopting initiatives against all illegal practices, including human trafficking, to support a safe and sustainable working environment in the Kingdom.
