LMRA CEO Meets UNDP Resident Representative to Discuss Labour Market Initiatives

Manama: Nibras Talib, CEO of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, received Asmaa Shalabi, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Talib commended the efforts of United Nations agencies, particularly the UNDP, in supporting the Kingdom's pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He outlined Bahrain's ongoing efforts to enhance the work environment and maintain a labour market that upholds rights, stability, and sustainability. Key initiatives were discussed, including the Wage Protection System and the Kingdom's efforts to combat trafficking in persons. He reaffirmed LMRA's commitment to strengthening cooperation with partners to ensure the labour market is regulated in line with international best practices.

On her part, Shalabi praised Bahrain's collaborative approach with international organisations, especially with the UNDP, and expressed her keenness to further support and strengthen this partnership.
