Manama: Nebras Talib, CEO of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee for Combating Trafficking in Persons, met with Madhuka Harshani Silva, the Charge d'Affaires of Sri Lanka to Bahrain. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between Bahrain and Sri Lanka in various areas to strengthen bilateral relations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the CEO underscored the importance of improving the labour market environment in Bahrain to ensure the protection of rights for all involved parties. He noted that Bahrain has launched several initiatives aimed at pioneering improvements in this field.
The CEO also called on civil society organisations representing expatriate communities to aid government efforts by increasing awareness campaigns. These campaigns should focus on workers' rights and responsibilities, as well as the significance of adhering to existing regulations and laws. Such efforts, he suggested, would contribute to the stability and protection of workers' rights.
