Manama: Nibras Mohammed Talib, CEO of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons (NCCTIP), welcomed Laurens Westhoff, the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Bahrain, who is stationed in Kuwait. The meeting focused on strengthening the bilateral relations between Bahrain and the Netherlands, emphasizing the importance of cooperation to achieve mutual goals and interests. According to Bahrain News Agency, the CEO provided an overview of the Expat Protection Centre (EPC) to Ambassador Westhoff. The EPC, noted as the first of its kind in the Middle East, is dedicated to offering preventive support, legal guidance, and shelter for victims of trafficking and individuals at risk. The discussions also highlighted Bahrain's commitment to fostering a fair work environment while ensuring the protection of all stakeholders' rights. This includes the measures and systems implemented to combat human trafficking in the country. Additionally, the mee ting touched on LMRA's various awareness programmes and initiatives. These efforts are conducted in collaboration with international organizations, diplomatic missions, and civil society groups, particularly those representing expatriate communities.
