Legal Affairs Minister Engages in Key Discussions at Islamic Labour Ministers Conference

Doha: Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour, participated in the 6th Session of the Islamic Conference of Labour Ministers (ICLM), held under the theme "Local Experiences, Global Achievements: Success Stories in the Islamic World." from October 15-16 in Qatar.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the conference was attended by Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), alongside labour ministers from member states and representatives of relevant Islamic and international organisations.

The Minister emphasised the importance of strengthening joint cooperation among Islamic countries in the fields of labour and human resource development, as well as supporting comprehensive development plans that contribute to achieving the aspirations of these countries.

He also highlighted the need to continue developing labour markets and training and education policies, particularly in light of the rapid growth in the use of digital technology.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Minister also participated in the meeting of GCC Labour Ministers, during which key topics on the agenda of the current Islamic Conference of Labour Ministers were discussed.

The meeting also addressed efforts to enhance cooperation and coordination among GCC countries to further strengthen joint Gulf efforts in the fields of labour and human resource development.
