Lebanese Charg© d’Affaires Engages with Bahrain’s DANAT on Pearl and Gemstone Collaboration

Manama: The Bahrain Institute of Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) welcomed Merna Khawly, Charg© d'Affaires of the Lebanese Embassy in Bahrain, in a significant move to enhance bilateral ties in the pearls, gemstones, and jewellery sectors.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the visit underscores ongoing efforts to broaden collaborative avenues between Bahrain and Lebanon, particularly in cultural and economic domains. Noora Jamsheer, CEO of DANAT, provided an overview of the Institute's establishment, mission, and objectives, highlighting its pivotal role in establishing Bahrain as a leading regional and international hub for the pearl and gemstone industry.

Jamsheer emphasized the importance of preserving the legacy of Bahraini natural pearls, promoting them as a symbol of national identity and cultural heritage. She also pointed out the shared cultural and heritage bond that pearls and gemstones represent for both Bahrain and Lebanon.

The visit was seen as a recognition by the Lebanese Embassy of Bahrain's expertise in the sector and an interest in DANAT's experience. Jamsheer noted that this engagement opens new avenues for cooperation, strengthening relations and facilitating knowledge exchange in the pearls and gemstones field.
