Labour Minister highlights success of Economic Recovery Plan

Manama, Labour Minister, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, chaired the meeting of the Coordination and Follow-up Committee at the Labour Ministry, in the presence of Undersecretary, HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and the relevant officials.

The meeting focused on ways to develop the Labour Ministry’s initiatives and programmes to employ the citizens and integrate them in the labour market, commensurate with the Economic Recovery Plan, launched by the government.

In this regard, it reviewed the progress of the implementation of the initiatives launched by the Labour Ministry in collaboration with its main partners, including the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) and the private sector companies and institutions, as well as the success indicators of the employment initiatives and the challenges facing them.

Humaidan asserted that the Labour Minister will continue implementing its programmes to employ national job seekers, noting that thanks to the Economic Recovery Plan, launched by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the economic and commercial movement in the Kingdom has flourished, paving the way for Bahrain to attract many job-generating investment opportunities.

He asserted that through its incentives for productive sectors, the Labour Ministry seeks to provide free training for the national workforce, support the salaries of Bahraini workers and intensify the employment of national job seekers in private institutions, calling for enhancing cooperation with the private sector to achieve the ultimate national goal of making Bahrainis the first option at the labour market.
