Manama: Yousif Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Labour and Minister of Legal Affairs and Chairman of the Occupational Safety and Health Council, led the second meeting of the Occupational Safety and Health Council. During the session, council members evaluated the latest progress concerning the execution of the council's awareness and guidance programmes slated for 2026.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister stressed the significance of persistent efforts to enhance occupational safety and health standards within workplaces. These efforts aim to protect workers and boost productivity across various sectors. He underscored the ongoing initiatives to advance legislation and awareness programmes designed to ensure safe and sustainable working environments throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The meeting further assessed the preparations for the implementation of Edict (5) of 2026, which governs the summer midday work ban. Additionally, the council received updates on the organisation of the upcoming Sixth National Occupational Safety and Health Conference and Exhibition.
