Kuwait Thwarts Terrorist Plot Targeting Vital Facilities

Kuwait city: The Ministry of Interior of the State of Kuwait announced that the State Security Service successfully foiled a terrorist plot targeting vital installations in the country.

According to Bahrain News Agency, following intensive surveillance and security investigations, 10 citizens who are members of a terrorist group affiliated with the banned Hezbollah organisation were apprehended. They had been planning and coordinating with foreign entities to provide them with the coordinates of the targeted sites, posing a direct threat to national security.

The ministry stated that this pre-emptive strike represents the dismantling of sleeper cells seeking to undermine the country’s security. Investigations revealed that the cell members received training abroad in Hezbollah camps on using weapons and operating drones, in preparation for sabotage operations aimed at undermining the state’s sovereignty, destabilising it, and spreading fear within society.

The ministry emphasised that it will deal with the utmost firmness with anyone involved in harming national security or cooperating with such terrorist groups, and will not hesitate to deliver painful blows to any threats to the country’s security and sovereignty.
