Kuwait city: Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) announced that a Kuwaiti crude oil tanker was subjected to a direct Iranian strike late Monday while berthed in the anchorage area of Dubai port in the United Arab Emirates.
According to Bahrain News Agency, KPC said in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the tanker was fully loaded at the time of the incident. The strike resulted in material damage to the vessel and a fire, with a potential oil spill reported in surrounding waters.
Emergency response teams are currently working to contain and extinguish the fire in coordination with relevant authorities. The corporation confirmed that no injuries were reported. It added that a detailed assessment of the damage is underway, alongside the implementation of necessary measures to ensure the safety of maritime navigation and the environment.
