King of Malaysia receives AFC President

Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President, FIFA First Deputy President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to HM the King of Malaysia Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah at the Istana Negara in the capital of Malaysia.

The Malaysian monarch welcomed Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, extending greetings to HM the King, wishing him good health and happiness and the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity. HM the King of Malaysia praised Shaikh Salman’s efforts as AFC President, commended the pivotal role of the continental confederation in supporting Asian football.

The AFC President expressed deepest thanks and gratitude to the Malaysian monarch for the warm welcome and hospitality, hailing his contributions to supporting Asian football over three decades.

He highlighted the AFC plans and programmes to further promote Asian football, providing an overview about the state-of-the-art stadium which will be constructed in Putrajaya in close collaboration with FIFA.
