Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan held a telephone call with His Excellency President Emmanuel Macron of the French Republic, discussing recent developments in the region, particularly the situation in Gaza and the West Bank.
According to Bahrain News Agency, a royal court statement highlighted that His Majesty emphasised the need to step up international efforts to stop the war in Gaza and ensure the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid to all areas of the Strip.
HM the King underscored Jordan's rejection of Israel's plans to consolidate the occupation of Gaza and expand military control over it, as well as expand settlements in the West Bank, according to the Jordan News Agency (Petra).
His Majesty stressed the need to support Palestinians in obtaining their just and legitimate rights and establishing their independent state based on the two-state solution, praising France's intention to recognise the Palestinian state.
The King commended France's support of efforts to achieve peace in the region, particularly at the diplomatic and humanitarian levels.
The call also emphasised the importance of supporting Syria and Lebanon's efforts to maintain their security, stability, and territorial sovereignty.
