King Hamad Award for Coexistence and Tolerance Launched in Washington

Washington:Bahrain's Embassy in Washington hosted a reception to inaugurate the first King Hamad Award for Coexistence and Tolerance, inviting nominations from individuals and institutions globally.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Ambassador to the United States, emphasized that the award embodies Bahrain's enduring values of openness and coexistence, aligning with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's vision for promoting global peace through intercultural and interfaith dialogue.

The Ambassador noted the award's significance in light of current global developments impacting community security, describing it as a model for fostering understanding and dialogue. He commended the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance for its role in advocating these values worldwide.

Speeches were also delivered by Dr. Al Sadiq Khalafallah, a member of the Centre's Board of Trustees, and Dr. Mohamed Elsanousi, Executive Director of the Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers and a member of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom. They highlighted the importance of initiatives that promote tolerance and coexistence on a global scale.
